Maternity VIP Experience at JoJo Maman Bébé (AD)

12th June 2019 18 By Rachael Stray

I was very kindly invited along to a Maternity VIP Experience at my local JoJo Maman Bébé in Morpeth*.

I’m a big fan of JoJo Maman Bébé I think the stores are gorgeous, products are fab and the staff have always been really friendly.

Full disclosure – one of my lovely friends from my Monsoon Accessorize days is the manager at the Morpeth store and she kindly mentioned my name and my blog to the lovely PR folk at the company.

The aim of the Maternity VIP experience is to offer one to one advice to expectant mums, on what they really need to buy when pregnant as well as when the baby arrives.

The staff in store are given in-depth training on all topics relating to parenting.

Steve and I had to stop ourselves buying everything in sight at their York branch during our recent babymoon, we didn’t leave empty handed though!

My local JoJo Maman Bébé store is in Morpeth which was about a 40 minute drive from home.

It’s in the Sanderson Arcade which has lots of parking nearby and local buses go there too.

I got to the store for bang on 12 and was warmly greeted by manager Michelle who introduced me to the team in that day – Assistant Manager Barbara and Sales Advisor Katie who would be looking after me during my appointment.

Katie explained how the appointment would work and what it would include:

  • Pregnancy and nursing must-haves
  • Bra fitting
  • Product demonstrations
  • Expert advice
  • A fabulous goody bag filled with treats at the end.

We started off by going through the hospital bag checklist for both me and baby and went through what I have, don’t have and what I would likely need.

I found this really helpful.

As a thank you for showcasing the experience on my blog JoJo gave me the added gift of £100 credit to spend in store which was a lovely surprise.

I decided to spend the £100 on things for me and I’d buy the items for baby myself.

Katie also did my bra fitting and helped me choose a style of nursing bra that was comfortable but still had some room for extra growth.

We also discussed breastfeeding which is what I want to try to do once baby is here and how I can do this discreetly when in public. She recommended I try some of the clothing designed to be discreet and comfortable for breastfeeding mum’s.

I chose this gorgeous nautical dress which can also be worn as a top.

This really comfy and practical vest top which comes in navy, black and grey too.

The best bit about the secret support maternity and nursing vest is it has extra support so you could go braless if you wanted to.

I also opted for this Ticking Stripe Embroidered Maternity Top which had caught my eye in the York store.

Thinking ahead Katie really recommended this Matchstick Monkey Teething Gel Applicator.

Katie drew on her own experience of pregnancy and labour as she has two little ones of her own and this made me feel so at ease.

She was genuinely lovely, really friendly and helpful and not at all pushy.

Everyone who has the VIP Maternity Experience is given a special 15% discount code inside their goody bag which can be used online or in store. I was given this 15% discount off the additional items I purchased which is a great saving.

I spent just under £100 but feel I got a lot for the money.

For baby I bought:

In the lovely goody bag which you can use as a proper bag I received:

  • Compact folding changing mat
  • Six pack of white muslin squares
  • The tummy rub butter tube and sachet
  • 15% off discount code which can be used online or in store which is valid until September.

I would 100% recommend the VIP Maternity Experience to any expecting mum – you get at least one full hour of unbridled attention, expert advice and the chance to really plough through your to-do list.

The goody bag and 15% discount is a lovely touch too.

A huge thank you to the lovely staff at the Morpeth JoJo Maman Bébé for looking after bump and I so well. I’m thrilled with all of the items I bought and the two hours I spent with Katie absolutely flew by.

My to-do list is much shorter now and I feel so much more prepared.
