Hello šš»Ā there
I’m Rachael Stray a proud no-longer exiled Geordie who thought I’d try my hand at blogging.
You’ll find a mixture of posts including reviews and recommendations from food to days out, my parenting journey, what books I’m enjoying, musings about life here in the fabulous North East, travel, beauty and much more!
A little about me…
I’m a born and bred proud Geordie who returned back up to my native North East after a four-year stint living in lovely Lincolnshire.
In July 2019, I became a first time mammy to our beautiful daughter Elsie. You can follow my updates throughout my pregnancy in my pregnancy diaries series. I also share my journey through motherhood and parenting on the blog too.
I’m an NCTJ trained journalist who has spent the last few years working my way up the communications and PR ladder.
You can find out more about whyĀ I made the move from journalism to the dark side of PR here.
I turned thirty in November 2018 and set myself some goals to try to achieve before my big birthday which you can see here.
I’m happily married to my amazing husband Steve. I shared some of the lessons I’ve learnt after three years of marriage which you can read here.
There’s a few posts be about the trials and tribulations of married life too such as how an innocent trip to IKEA inspired a couples survival post, you can check that out here.
I post usually on Sunday mornings and I’m happy to guest blog too – just ask!
I’m also happy to do collaborations and sponsored posts too. Please visit my contact/work with me page for more information.
I hope you enjoy my posts and please feel free to leave your thoughts and feedback and of course pleaseĀ get in touch.

Hi Rachael,
I just came across your blog and I think for improving the overall visuals on it you might enjoy some of the articles I’ve recently written some of the wordpress stuff like menus and widgets! Just to share a few tips from a fellow blogger š
Do you know if there is a group for Geordies in London?
Good question Neil. I donāt Iām afraid as donāt really have any friends living in London anymore. Might be worth a shout out on Twitter though?
Nominated you for the Sunshine Blogger Award because I love your work! š

Hi Rachael
I’m glad you visited my blog and I came here hoping to click on a follow button and… I can’t find one? Is that just me?
Geoff
Thanks Geoff I’ve just moved to self-hosted so still a few things to tweak. This is on the list thanks š
Hola Rachael, I just came across your post and am ever curious…As an ancient writer (think wine rather than cheese), I am interested, not only in people per se, but especially younger writers as the age extremes can learn such a lot from each other. We have to watch out for archaic language and be awake to new expressions. Always so much to learn!. ‘Noughts and Crosses’ sounds a unique read and I shall look it out. Here’s wishing you the very best of luck as a writer.(I love being one…)Thank you.
Thank you š
Loved getting to know you a bit better – I always enjoy getting to know the writers behind the blogs! x

Hello fellow Geordie! What a lovely blog you have here!
Look forward to your future posts.
Thank you!
Thanks so much for that info Rachael. I use Pixabay all the time, but never heard of the others, wonderful. Good to have discovered your blog, too
I love learning about the “real life” of bloggers. I love that pic of you and your husband. It’s terrific. This year will be my 29th!
