Modelling maternity sportswear (AD)
A couple of weeks ago I was invited to try my hand at modelling some maternity sportswear for the Sportee Mommee brand*.
This was something totally outside of my comfort zone – I am by no means a model and at the time I was 28 weeks pregnant.
Nonetheless I saw the opportunity and thought why not put myself forward?
I headed into Newcastle to meet with the lovely Helen on behalf of Sportee Mommee at photographer Sarah Deane’s studio for the photoshoot.
An actual model, Natalie, who is 5ft10 and a half (and totally gorgeous despite being a little further on in her pregnancy than me) was in the middle of her shoot when I arrived.
She was really lovely and a total pro!
I was given a couple of different Sportee Mommee items to wear – ahem I mean model -and before I knew it I was standing on the little blue mark posing for Sarah.

We did quite a few shots in the studio and then headed out into Newcastle for some outdoor location shots.
I also got to use some exercise props too which was actually quite tiring pretending to do exercise!

It wasn’t a very warm or still day so the wind was a bit of a pest but I think the pictures turned out really well!

Some tourists stopped to watch us as Sarah worked her magic and I posed at the Castle Keep and Natalie posed by the arches – I do wonder what they thought!

After a couple of hours it was a wrap and my modelling day was over.
Helen kindly gifted me my favourite two items that I’d tried on that day in exchange for my time and I absolutely love them. I opted for the leggings and track top.
To be honest it was a tough decision as I liked everything I tried on!

I’m hoping to try my hand at some pregnancy yoga and now I have the perfect outfit to wear!
A massive thank you to both Helen and Sarah who were so patient and encouraging – I had a fab afternoon and I love the photos!
What did I think of Sportee Mommee maternity sportswear?
Honestly the items I tried one were all really comfortable and supportive for both me and bump.
The leggings had lots of room for my bump and I didn’t feel huge, I felt comfortable in them. I felt like I had room to grow too.
All the clothes felt like really nice quality and not at all drab or too tight.
I felt supported and comfortable and actually still stylish which isn’t always easy when you’re pregnant!
