Pregnancy diaries – My baby shower

My wonderful friends and Mam organised a surprise baby shower for me.

It was actually the first baby shower I’ve been to!

My mam and Catherine worked in cahoots to organise the whole thing even getting Steve in on it – sneaky!

So I went to town with my mam and nana under false pretences and walked to the back of Browns Brasserie in Newcastle to a wonderful surprise on a Sunday afternoon.

There was a beautiful cake, bunting, presents and friends and family – lovely.

It was really lovely to have a good chinwag with my friends and family who I don’t get to see as often as I’d like.

We had a lovely Afternoon Tea spread which was delicious.

I indulged in two delightful mocktails and a creamy hot chocolate.

The whole thing was a total surprise and I was a little overwhelmed if I’m honest.

A friend had even managed to come along during a flying visit home from Vienna which I was so grateful for.

After we’d had our fill of delicious Afternoon Tea treats everyone wrote out a little card with advice inside which I’m to read once baby arrives.

Catherine hand made these which was so sweet!

I know a lot of people think it’s a silly American tradition to have a baby shower but actually it was just a really lovely afternoon spent with some of my favourite people.

It was really chilled out and it was great to talk to some of my mummy friends too in preparation for labour.

Baby Stray was really spoilt and I had a really fab time.
