Goodbye 2022 hello 2023
As we get ready to say goodbye 2022 and hello 2023 I thought it would be a good idea to take a look back on this year.
I started this tradition with my goodbye 2018 and hello 2019 post and my goodbye 2019 and hello 2020 post I thought I’d do the same again.
Goodbye 2022 and hello 2023
And just like that 2022 is coming to an end.
Elsie is still thriving at nursery and enjoying herself in her final room before she starts school in 2023 eek!
She’s moving through the toddler phase to little girl at a rapid pace.
In July she turned three and she is growing and developing every single day.

Although she still has problems with her foot she doesn’t let it hold her back and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me seeing her running around although I do wish she didn’t trip over as often as she does!
She loved her first visit to the Fun Zone and was soon gaining confidence to run and climb around on her own.

I’ve continued to work hard to find a balance when working from home rather than living at work and I feel like I’ve managed this much better this year.
Although we’ve remained cautious thanks to covid we have enjoyed seeing family and friends more than we were able to in 2020 and 2021.
Unfortunately, my beloved nanna Mavis passed away and we were all left devastated by this great loss.

In happier times, we managed a visit down to see Steve’s family in March and we enjoyed a trip to Skegness Natureland and the biggest slices of cake at Artisan Coffee Design.

Elsie enjoyed her very first Afternoon Tea at the Black Horse Beamish with the girls which she enjoyed!

And we finally celebrated Elsie’s belated baptism with Afternoon Tea at Isabella’s Coffee Shop in April.

In May I had a fantastic night watching Ed Sheeran live at the Stadium of Light with my two best friends.

We celebrated Elsie turning three with our first proper family holiday to Center Parcs in July.

Steve and I managed a few day dates such as Brinkburn Street Brewery, Bar & Kitchen, breakfast at Riverview Bakery and El Pincho Durham.
We had a really lovely Christmas, you can catch up with my festive favourites from 2022.

It was brilliant to be able to see family and it not just be the three of us for the majority like last year.
We’ve enjoyed having some time off with Elsie over the festive period despite having to work a little bit inbetween.
So all in all 2022 has been pretty good, bring on 2023.
What am I looking forward to in 2023?
I hope to spend more time with family and friends next year, I don’t feel like we saw enough of each other again this year!
And I’m also hoping to enjoy more family trips out and exploring with Elsie.
I managed to read 61 books in 2022 and now I’ve got my reading mojo back I’m aiming for at least 60 in 2023.

Self care is still high on my agenda and I want to look after myself even better in 2023.
Elsie will be starting an exciting chapter next year when she starts school so I’m looking forward to that next step.
And I wish you all a happy and healthy 2023.
