Festive favourites from 2025
Christmas may be over for another year but I thought I’d reflect on my festive favourites from 2025.
I have done this for the last few years when I looked back on my festive favourites from 2024, festive favourites from 2023, festive favourites from 2022, festive favourites from 2021, festive favourites from 2020, festive favourites from 2019, festive favourites from 2018 and my festive favourites from 2017.
Festive favourites from 2025
Our festive celebrations kicked-off in November with a trip to the Gala Durham to watch Jack and the Beanstalk we enjoyed tea out at The Food Pit beforehand and we had a brilliant evening.
The first weekend of December we headed down to Manchester with an overnight stay in a Premier Inn, marking Elsie’s first ever hotel stay.
And the next morning we were up bright and early for our visit to Lapland UK Manchester, this was a magical storybook experience that I would highly recommend.
Due to work being busy and so many acitivities planned we slowly decorated the house for Christmas.
Elsie and I enjoyed listening to a Christmas playlist as we decorated her Christmas tree in the playroom which was kindly gifted to us from WeRChristmas last year.
In mid-December we also enjoyed our annual tradition of a day out at Beamish and visiting Father Christmas’ Grotto.
Elsie has enjoyed three different pantomimes again this year – lucky duck.
She had her school visit to see Sleeping Beauty, we went as a family to watch Jack and the Beanstalk and she went with my parents to watch Cinderella at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House.
It was our turn to host and we welcomed Steve’s parents on Christmas Eve Eve.
Elsie loved having her nanny and pops stay.
On Christmas Day it was the five of us and Elsie loved that Santa had been and made light work of opening her presents.
Steve rustled up a delicious Christmas dinner which we all enjoyed.
We have Christmas part 2 delayed this year due to work commitments with my family.
So tomorrow we will head over to my parents house to celebrate.
We enjoyed the Call the Midwife Christmas specials.
Steve and I are only at work a couple of days each before going back to work properly when Elsie returns to school in January.
