My festive favourites from 2018
Christmas may be over for another year but I thought I’d reflect on my festive favourites from 2018.
I did this last year when I looked back on my festive favourites from 2017.
Here’s a run down of some of my festive favourites from Christmas 2018
For the first time ever the hubby and I enjoyed Christmas Eve in our own home. My mam had put together a Christmas Eve box packed full of delicious treats and goodies.
Of course we also had new pyjamas for Christmas Eve too.
On Christmas Day we headed over to my parents house to celebrate with my side of the family.
We enjoyed a lovely meal which left me feeling just as stuffed as the turkey!
After which we played some games including pass the parcel and opened some presents.
My cousins then had to head off to visit more family but the fun didn’t stop for us.
More games including the fake news game and Catchphrase were enjoyed.
We also opened even more presents – we were very spoilt.
Later that night Steve and I headed back home and snuggled up on the sofa to enjoy the Call the Midwife Christmas special. I obviously cried as I always do!
The day after Boxing Day we headed to the Metro Centre to check out the sales. We got there fairly early and I exchanged a cardigan for two dresses and a pair of tights from Fat Face.
We also picked up some birthday presents for our niece.
In the evening it was time for the annual Christmas catch up with my friends. We headed to El Coto for tapas and it was a lovely evening.
Steve and I enjoyed a meal here for NE1 Restaurant Week back in August which you can catch up with here.
Unfortunately a migraine struck and I ended up being quite poorly on the night time.
Thankfully I was feeling much better the next day!
We headed down for Christmas part two with Steve’s side of the family for a long weekend.
We received more lovely gifts including the Greatest Showman on dvd which I am so excited to watch as I haven’t seen it yet!
On the Saturday we headed to the town where we used to live and popped in for a quick catch up with friends and to drop off some Christmas gifts.
We then had a spot of lunch at one of our favourite restaurants Millers for a posh fish finger sandwich.
On Sunday, Steve’s sister husband and our niece came over and we headed for a lovely family meal.
A tasty carvery followed by a knickerbocker glory for my dessert.
When we got home it was time to exchange gifts and we received the lovely present of a banquet evening at Lumley Castle which is where we celebrated our wedding.
We also headed out for a winter walk down the lane as it was a nice day.
Our niece was showing us just how good she is on her new hover board go-kart. Steve even had a go!
On New Year’s Eve we were back on the road heading back up north.
We had a quiet one in the house just the two of us.
To blow away the cobwebs on New Year’s Day we had a quick look around some furniture stores in the afternoon before heading to Tynemouth for some fish and chips.
