The Backpacking Housewife – review (AD)
I was given an advanced electronic reader copy by NetGalley of The Backpacking Housewife in return for an honest review*.

Synopsis of The Backpacking Housewife
One mum is leaving it all behind for the adventure of a lifetime…
Lorraine Anderson was meant to be making a Sunday roast, not swanning off to Thailand, backpack in hand! But when she finds her husband and her best friend in bed together there’s only one thing to do – grab her passport and never look back!
Now, with each mile travelled Lori sheds the woman she once was and finds the woman she was always meant to be. A woman of passion and spirit who deserves to explore the great unknown…and to indulge in the temptation she encounters along the way!
My overall thoughts on The Backpacking Housewife
Lori didn’t let the ultimate betrayal of her husband and best friend’s affair get her down in the dumps.
Nope she grabbed life by the horns and went off on adventures around the world meeting the infamous environmentalist Sir Ethan Goldman and falling in love.
This story takes the reader on an adventure and really got my wanderlust juices flowing.
I felt like I had actually visited the places in the story as the writing is very sensory and educational all while being entertained.
You experiences the sights and sounds of Thailand alongside her and feel as though you are going on a ‘grown up’ gap year.
Lori travels to some exotic places in her quest to get the island of Ethan’s dreams, pushing herself both mentally and physically utilising her new knowledge of the animal kingdom and ways of organising travelling to far away destinations.
If you want a feel good book then this is it. Some of the plot is a little like a Hallmark movie and it can sometimes be a little cheesy but its a charming read, perfect for the poolside in my opinion.
