What’s a Scrooge to do? Plug his nose and eat fruitcake and hope she doesn’t learn his true identity before he can get out of town.

My overall thoughts of Christmas From The Heart

Immediately I warmed to Olivia, Livi to her friends and family.

She’s still reeling from the death of her mum, trying to run her grandmothers charity, doing the best for her community and caring for her bereft father.

All the while she puts herself last. She has dreams and aspirations but the charity, family and friends come first.

Guy is suffering from the loss of his father. He’s in the hot seat at the family company and trying to do right but making some wrong decisions along the way.

After making an enemy of Livi his car breaks down and being a Good Samaritan Livi comes to his rescue.

Instead of admitting who he is to Livi he lies and like most lies to cover up the first one more come tumbling out.

Guy weaves a tangled web and eventually he’s rumbled.

Throughout the book I was rooting for them to get together but you’ll have to read it for yourself to see if they do or if her childhood sweetheart Morris finally gets his chance.

It’s a chick-lit filled with Christmas cheer and Hallmark movie cheese but I loved it!

At the end of the book are some tips to make an inexpensive but lovely Christmas for your family as well as some of Livi’s recipes. This is a really unexpected but lovely added touch!

This is the perfect winter read, a book to curl up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and your favourite biscuit.
