5 free websites for stock images
In-house photo libraries are rarely kept up to date or full of high quality images to accompany your press release, newsletter or other communications content.
So whatever your profession, it’s never a bad idea to have some stock photography websites up your sleeve.
I’ve compiled five free stock photography websites below, so you too can have access to millions of images instantly.
5 free websites for stock images
Pixabay
Pixabay is an image repository which integrates images from other image hosting sites.
They attempt to gather the very best of free stock images for your own personal or commercial use.
Pexels
Pexels started in 2015 and has grown to develop a reputable stock photo library.
It doesn’t only display images located on the Pexels website. It also outsources images from such high-quality websites as Gratisography, Little Visuals, and more.
StockSnap
StockSnap provides an excellent and extensive library for free stock imagery. With hundreds of high-quality photos added weekly.
Life of Pix
Life of Pix is great because the photos are broken down by category in their gallery.
Gratisography
Gratisography has high-resolution and high-contrast photos, with new photos added weekly.
So once you’ve downloaded your new images you can then use them standalone within your existing content or to create something new.

this is great as some of these are new to me so will be checking them out. Pinned them already. Sometimes you just don’t have the picture you need for a post. Have been using Canva but that doesn’t always work either. thanks.

Which one to try… this is the question. I’ve tried sites before and they don’t really give you free to use. It sounds like I’m a cheapskate I know but I can’t afford to spend money on pictures that are not being used for business.
I use Pixabay and Pexels on a daily basis for work for high quality FREE images and the others every so often. It depends what type of image I am after.
Apart from when we hire a professional photographer I professionally and personally haven’t paid for any images. Hope that helps 🙂
