Things take a dark turn when visitors Mike and Nadia come to stay.

They are noisy, dirty and disrespectful.

Hannah is incensed by their behaviour, worried they may wreck her lovingly restored barn.

But she gradually realises that property damage is the least of her worries.

Nadia and Mike aren’t here just for a holiday – they have a deeper, darker purpose, one that threatens to destroy Hannah’s entire life.

Spiralling into a nightmare that grows worse with each passing day, Hannah has to find the courage to fight back.

But Mike and Nadia are clever and ruthless and they know something that Hannah doesn’t – a shocking secret from the past…

My overall thoughts on The Visitors

I really enjoyed The Visitors, it was a thrilling and nervy read.

There’s lots of elements to the story

Hannah and Daniel’s marriage seems perfect but cracks are starting to show
the guest cottage is meant to be a new start for Hannah but could it be more trouble than it’s worth?
this latest set of guests what is their angle?

The second set of guests at Hannah’s converted barn holiday let are the absolute epitome of bad guests.

Mike, Nadia and their daughter Kayleigh are rude, loud, demanding and dangerous.

And when things can’t seem to get any worse Mike is murdered and Daniel is the prime suspect.

Is Daniel really capable of murder?

Could Daniel really be framed for murder?

Hannah feels like it’s her mission to find out the truth about who really did kill Mike.

She needs to do this for her, for her children and for the truth.

As she starts to investigate Mike and Nadia and Mike’s gruesome death she starts to uncover secrets within her own marriage.

Hannah starts to question her marriage and her husband.

As she uncovers more lies and deceit, she starts to question who the man she married really is.

Can Hannah discover the truth and find out who killed Mike without getting herself in danger and further trouble?

A really great read that often left me on edge and feeling quite uncomfortable.

I really enjoyed the pace and the suspense within this story.

Miranda Rijks is a writer of psychological thrillers and suspense novels.

She has an eclectic background ranging from law to running a garden centre.

She’s been writing all of her life and has a Masters in writing.

A couple of years ago she decided to ditch the business plans and press releases and now she’s living the dream, writing suspense novels full time.

She lives in Sussex, England with her Dutch husband, musician daughter and black Labrador.
