Re-usable makeup remover pads – review
At the start of the year I decided to invest in re-usable products and the first being makeup remover pads.
I had a good hunt around in store and online and finally settled on this 21 piece set of reusable makeup remover pads from Etsy priced at £12.97.

The set included 14 soft pads made from bamboo cotton and 7 scrub pads made from bamboo terry as well as a mesh laundry bag; all housed in a little box which you can use to store them in which is exactly what I do.
The pads are 8cm diameter and both sides can used within your daily cleansing routine.
Made with three layers of the highest quality bamboo cotton which makes them super absorbent and robust.
They are suitable for all skin types.
I find my Micellar water doesn’t always sink into the pad quite as quickly as a single use cotton pad so I have to take a little care not to get any run off of product.

After I’ve used the pad on both sides I pop it in the little wash bag and when I’ve used roughly half the pads they go into the washing machine on a 40°C wash and let them dry naturally.

One pad has been marked with some mascara when I hadn’t used anything else to remove a full face of makeup, bar the pad itself but it is still perfectly fine to use.
It’s advised to handwash before putting in the machine to avoid staining, I wish I’d done that with the mascara stained pad!
I’ve been using these pads every day since February and I honestly wouldn’t want to go back to disposable cotton pads.

I find them really soft and because you can use both sides of the pad and they dry fairly quickly after being washed, I’ve never had an issue of running out.
The scrub pads are great for applying and removing face masks or if you’ve got stubborn makeup on.

I’d definitely recommend these re-usable makeup remover pads, purse friendly and sustainable it’s a win win.

Good heads up on the staining! But what a great way to save a little cash and reduce a bit of waste!
Those sound great. I like that they include the washing bag so you don’t lose them like socks.
These are really good value! I bought a set in a cute little tin for travelling earlier in the year but forgot about them until recently sorting out the bedroom. I’ve only just started to use them but great tip about soaking them in cold water before washing to remove mascara stains easier 👍🏻
Really good value and actually I prefer them to disposable cotton rounds they are firm but still soft and I just wash them once a week with lights.
