My overall thoughts on Only You

After reading The Assistant and The Good Neighbor, I was keen to read more books by Cathryn Grant.

Grant has a real talent for crafting psychological thrillers that make the reader hungrily turn every page until the very end.

And Only You is no different.

I devoured the book in just two sittings!

Hadley is your typical suburban mum, living in her ideal house with her perfect family.

But Hadley has been keeping a secret from her teenage years, is her past about to catch up with her?

When her sister arrived for an unexpected visit, things begin to quickly unravel in Hadley’s life.

The book is told from Hadley and Geneva’s (her daughter) points of view.

There were also interwoven chapters about a fairytale “Princess Camille and Princess Clementine”.

Hadley’s friendship with her neighbour and closest friend are tested to the extreme, her husband is accused of murder and she feels that she’s losing her daughter too.

And is her next-door neighbour a friend or a foe?

As the plot unfolds the connections begin to snap into place to make for a thrilling climax that had me on the edge of my seat.

Some parts of the plot were predictable, but the ins and out of how and why kept me turning the pages to see how it was all going to unfold.

Overall, this was another great psychological thriller by this amazing author and I can’t wait for Cathryn Grant’s next book!
