Unboxing May Awakening Glow Glossybox
The May Awakening Glow Glossybox arrived right on time.
There’s something about May that always feels like a reset button.
The evenings stretch a little longer, skincare routines become lighter, and suddenly I’m reaching for products that make my skin look healthy rather than simply recovered from winter.
This month’s Glossybox theme, Awakening Glow, fits perfectly into that seasonal shift.
The edit focuses on hydration, lumino sity and easy everyday beauty — products designed to bring skin back to life after months of central heating, cold weather and generally neglecting SPF far more than we should admit.
But before we even get to the products, there was one very noticeable change this month…
A New Look for Glossybox
If you’ve been subscribed to Glossybox for a while, you’ll know the iconic pink inner box has always been part of the experience.
This month, though, things arrived a little differently.
Glossybox has moved towards more eco-conscious packaging, removing the separate inner presentation box and instead using the outer packaging as the complete delivery design.
It definitely feels like a cost-cutting move too, but honestly? I don’t mind it.
As pretty as the traditional boxes were stacked on shelves, they did create a lot of unnecessary waste over time.
The new packaging feels simpler, lighter and a bit more practical — even if it does lose a tiny bit of that “gift opening” feeling subscribers loved.
Now onto the products…
What was inside the May Awakening Glow Glossybox?

Rodial Glass Primer – Deluxe Size
The standout product for me this month was easily the Rodial Glass Primer. Anything promising a “glass skin” finish immediately gets my attention, and this actually delivers a really beautiful glow without looking greasy.
It’s lightweight, hydrating and gives skin that smooth, healthy finish that works perfectly under makeup or even worn alone on good skin days.
It has that expensive-feeling texture Rodial products always seem to have, and it instantly made my skin look fresher and more awake.
At £20 RRP for the full size, this definitely feels like one of the more premium inclusions in the box.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 – Deluxe Size
SPF in a beauty box will always get a yes from me — especially heading into summer.
This Neutrogena Hydro Boost SPF 50 combines hydration with high protection, which makes it ideal for everyday wear.
It contains hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and Pro-Vitamin B5, so it feels more like skincare than traditional sunscreen and is better for us oily girlies.
The texture is incredibly lightweight and absorbs quickly without leaving that heavy or chalky finish some SPFs still have.
I’ve already thrown this into my handbag because it’s exactly the kind of product you end up using constantly once the weather (hopefully) improves.
Honestly, practical skincare products like this are what I want more of in subscription boxes.

Bubble T Cosmetics Berry Blast Intense Body Spray – Deluxe Size
This one instantly reminded me of fruity body sprays from my teenage years — but in a more grown-up way.
The Berry Blast Intense Body Spray is sweet, playful and very summery.
If you love berry fragrances, you’ll probably really enjoy this.
It’s the kind of scent that works well for daytime when you want something light and easy rather than a heavy perfume.
Is it groundbreaking? Probably not. But it’s fun, fresh and actually ideal for throwing in your gym bag or using after showering.

Brushworks Microfibre Hair Towel – Full Size
Possibly the most practical item in the box, but also one I’ll genuinely use all the time.
The Brushworks Microfibre Hair Towel is soft, lightweight and designed to reduce drying time without roughing up your hair the way regular towels can.
It also has the little button fastening at the back which somehow makes you feel far more put together while doing your skincare routine.
I’ve been meaning to make the switch to microfibre towels as they really do help reduce frizz and breakage, especially if you heat style your hair regularly.
For £4.99 RRP, it’s not the most luxurious inclusion, but it’s useful — and I’d rather receive something practical than another random black eyeliner I’ll never use.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Brow Wiz® – Deluxe Size
I genuinely think a good brow product can completely change your makeup look, and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Mini Brow Wiz® is one of those cult products beauty lovers swear by for a reason.
The ultra-fine retractable pencil makes it really easy to create soft, hair-like strokes without brows looking too heavy or overdrawn.
It’s one of those products that works whether you prefer a natural everyday brow or something a little more sculpted.
Glossybox included a range of shades depending on subscribers’ profiles:
- Soft Brown – ideal for lighter brown hair
- Medium Brown – for medium brunette shades with cooler undertones
- Dark Brown – suited to deeper brunette tones with warmth
I received medium brown.
Even in the mini size, this feels like a genuinely exciting inclusion and one of the strongest makeup products Glossybox has featured in a while.
The full-size RRP sits at £15, which makes this a really nice addition to the overall value of the box.
Final Thoughts
The Awakening Glow edit feels very skincare-focused, practical and wearable — which honestly suits this time of year perfectly.

There’s nothing overly dramatic or trend-heavy here, just products designed to make you feel a little fresher and more put together heading into summer.
The packaging change will probably divide long-time subscribers, but from a sustainability point of view it does make sense.
And while I’ll miss the classic pink keepsake boxes slightly, I’d rather see less waste and more focus on the actual products inside.
Overall, this felt like a solid month for Glossybox: useful products, good seasonal choices and a couple of items I’ll genuinely continue using beyond the unboxing.
