Pumpkin Patch at Lintz Hall Farm – review (Ad)
We were kindly invited to the launch day of the Pumpkin Patch at Lintz Hall Farm in exchange for an honest review*.
Pumpkin Patch UK is just a 10 minute drive away for us at Lintz Hall Farm, Burnopfield and lucky for us the weather was great.
The farm also plays host to Psycho Path – scary attractions spread over 700 acres of farmland – I’m not sure if I’m brave enough for that though!
However, the Pumpkin Patch is more up my street – family friendly and not so scary!
Our visit to Pumpkin Patch at Lintz Hall Farm
On Sunday morning, the sun was shining and we made our way to the Pumpkin Patch, it’s well sign-posted and there’s car park attendees to help you get a space in the large free car park area.
I would absolutely recommend you wear wellies as understandably it’s quite muddy on a farm and some shoes to change into for your journey home.
With our wellies on we made our way to the tills and received our wrist bands which means you can go in and out if you need to.
As you walk through the layout was different to our list visit to Family Fright Fest in 2019, as they’ve expanded the Psycho Path attraction which was a bit of a shame as there’s fewer rides and space but it was still plenty of fun.
You walk through a covered area where there’s a bar area with tables and benches to sit on and a stage where live music starts from 12pm.
In the main section, there’s food trucks including pizza, Acropolis Greek street food, coffee and hot drinks, doughnuts and sweet treats.
There’s also some free bouncy castles for five minutes, a ghost house and some other paid for funfair rides and some harnessed trampolines.
There’s lots of photo opportunities throughout which we took advantage of.
We had a good look around and spotted a train ride which of course we had to go on.
It was £2.50 each and you can pay by cash, card or ApplePay which was handy.
Elsie loved the train ride and we enjoyed seeing the rolling County Durham hills zoom by.
It’s a very short train ride but enjoyable nonetheless.
After the train ride Elsie couldn’t wait any longer and absolutely had to go pumpkin picking.
We accidentally joined the face painting queue for a few minutes and then realised our mistake and made our way through the tent to the pumpkin patch itself.
There’s a hidden word you can spell out around the pumpkin patch to win some sweets at the end so collect your paper and crayon when you enter.
The price of the pumpkins is clearly displayed prior to you going through so you can start a mental calculation as you go round.
At the start of the pumpkin patch there’s a colourful array of wheelbarrows waiting for you and of course Elsie went for purple which is my favourite colour and apparently hers now too!
There’s a variety of different types and sizes of pumpkins, the white ones are really heavy and we put one back as it was just too heavy with all the others Elsie wanted.
She absolutely loved the small witch pumpkins and she kept referring to them as her beauties.
Again there’s so many photo opportunities here if that’s your thing!
With our pumpkins selected we parked up the purple wheelbarrow and made our way to the weighing station.
Our pumpkin bounty came to a little over £15 which didn’t seem too bad for how many we actually got (six in total) and the largest was quite a weight.
Pumpkins purchased and bagged up we carried them back to the car.
There is a covered pumpkin carving area with tables, chairs and tools for you to use but it was too soon to do this we felt with Halloween still a few weeks away but a great idea if you’re go closer to Halloween itself.
Our overall thoughts on Pumpkin Patch UK
We all had a lot of fun in the Pumpkin Patch area carefully selecting the pumpkins we were going to take home.
Elsie had the biggest smile on her face the whole time.
It wasn’t too busy or crowded and you could take your time looking at the pumpkins.
The price for entry, rides and pumpkins was really reasonable.
We had a great afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch and are well and truly in the Halloween spooky season spirit now – thank you so much for the invite.

Entry is £3 per person and includes entry to the patch, pumpkin carving, facepainting, bouncy castles and live music. Rides start from £2.50 which is reasonable.
