Olly Murs tour – review
On Monday night the hubby and I had a wonderful evening watching Olly Murs live on tour in Newcastle.
The last time I was at the Utilita Arena it was to see George Ezra kick off his tour. You can see what we thought of this gig here.

This time we had seated tickets and as I’m now 31 almost 32 weeks pregnant so this was a real blessing!
Supporting Olly on his All the Hits, You Know I Know tour was Rak Su.
Olly kicked off the UK dates in Scotland this week before heading to Newcastle.
We were treated to a mixture of songs from his latest album and his classics.
From start to finish it’s a really upbeat show. Olly is a great showman, darting across the stage, dancing, laughing, joking and showing off his impressive rear of the year 2014!
He also reminisced on his time in the music industry over the last 10 years since his first X Factor audition which catapulted him to stardom.
There were some serious moments in the show too.
He reflected on his mental health battles with anxiety two years ago and urged others who are struggling to speak to someone rather than bottle it up – before singing Talking To Myself, a song he penned about his struggles.
He chucked in a few surprises too to keep the audience on our toes – including a rendition of Shaggy’s It Wasn’t Me, Gala’s 90s hit Freed From Desire and I Wanna Be Like You from Disney’s Jungle Book.
Olly brought the show to close with three of his most popular hits Troublemaker, Wrapped Up and Dance With Me Tonight.
From start to finish, the show was energetic and his personality is infectious.
We had a great time despite some really larey lasses behind us! Bump was kicking away throughout so it looks like Mr Murs has another fan in the making.

Not one for me but I’m glad you had a great time (good job with the seats, too!) Good on him for talking about mental health too as it’s such an important topic and he’s able to reach a lot of people doing it during gigs. xx
I needed the seat this time! Thank you – yeah it was really great to hear him be so open and honest and he was really keen to get other men to open up which is a massive issue.
I always go for seated tickets. I usually stand and dance through the whole thing but being 4ft 11, I never get a good view from the floor 😅 I like the security of a seat, you’ve always got somewhere to rest and store your stuff.
