My five intentions for 2023
Well hello there 2023, I’ve decided to set five intentions for the year in the hope that it makes me stick to them!
My five intentions for 2023
Make time for my relationship
As parents who also work full time having any kind of time with my husband is like a blue moon.
Any spare time we do have is extremely limited.
There’s always housework to do or some sort of life admin – you know how it is.
So in 2023, I really want to make more time for the two of us as a couple, we deserve it.
We are more than just mammy and daddy and workers!
Self care isn’t selfish so do it more often
I am a huge advocate in self care and I’m always telling people to do it but often forget to carve out time for myself to practice what I preach!
For December 2022 I treated myself to my very first beauty advent Calendar and I opted for the M&S one, I’m going to indulge in lots of pamper sessions this year using those lovely treats!
I’m also going to get better at sticking to self care Friday while Steve does the weekly food shop so I will have a bath and listen to a podcast with a face mask on and just de-stress.
I want to make sure that this year I put aside more time for my own self care, it’s just so important for my mental health and wellbeing.
If you’re looking for some inspiration here’s 10 self care ideas during social isolation.
Exercise my mind more
In 2022 I managed to read 61 books and smashed by 50 books target from my five intentions for 2022.
However, I did lose my reading mojo a little bit so for 2023, I want to commit to reading even just a page of a book every single day!
I love to read and it’s a great way to unwind.
In November 2021, I took on the CIPR invest in CPD challenge and I almost logged the 60 points I needed for the year in just two weeks.
I didn’t do that in 2022 and hadn’t started logging CPD properly until mid December.
So I want to be better at logging my CPD throughout the year and not leave it quite so late.
Exercise my body (if it lets me)
I really struggled to find time or motivation to do any exercise in 2022 and my asthma from autumn on has been the worst it’s been since I was pregnant.
So once the weather improves, I want to try to do more exercise even just using my mini trampoline.
Make more memories
Elsie starts school in September eek so I want to make as many memories with her before she starts this next big chapter of her little life and of course beyond this!
So more trips out and quality time together as much as we can.
I also want to spend more time with friends and family even if it’s just a catch up over a hot chocolate – time with the people you care about is so precious.

A good plan for the year. Remember that reading is also self-care! And I can’t believe that Elsie is ready for school already!
Thank you. I will thank you. I know the time is just flying. We’ve submitted our choices for schools and we will find out nearer Easter where she will go!
