My five intentions for 2022

After another challenging year, 2021 I’ve decided to set five intentions for 2022.

I think we’re all nervous of making plans because so many things get cancelled or derailed because of covid which is why I am saying intentions.

I want to try to stay positive, motivated and be kinder to myself which is why I’ve set five intentions for 2022.

My five intentions for 2022

Make more memories

I really love the idea of filling a jar with memories over the year, which you then empty out on New Year’s eve to look back on what a great year it was, even if it has been such a challenge like the last few have been.

I never got round to starting to fill little notes of happy memories into an empty jar so we can do that on New Year’s Eve so I want to do that this year.

And to make sure we have that the jar is as full as possible we will have to make memories!

We kickstarted 2022 with a visit to Beamish Museum and Elsie had her first ride on a bus, so here’s to many more memories this year!

Exercise my mind more

In 2021 I managed to read 45 books, I lost my reading mojo in the summer but towards the end of the year I got it back.

This year I want to read at least 50 books.

I love to read and it’s a great way to unwind.

In November I took on the CIPR invest in CPD challenge and I’ve almost logged the 60 points I need for the year.

So by February I want to log those last few remaining tasks to finish my continuous professional development for the year and then get a further 60 points by February 2023.

Be more present and have less screen time

Have you checked your screen time lately?

Mine is really bad but some of it is reading in my defence.

I really want to try to be more present and have less screen time this year, I want to make memories and not do doomscrolling!

So I will try to be better at putting my phone down, especially on weekends when it’s family time.

Exercise my body

I really want to try to look after my body more this year as I’m now in my mid thirties!

I’m much better at self care but exercise isn’t something I do very much of at all.

So I want to try to walk more, use my mini trampoline and get a bit fitter!

Self care isn’t selfish so do it more often

It is so important to remember that self care isn’t selfish and in 2022 I will try to do it more often.

Towards the end of the year I got better at sticking to self care Friday while Steve did the weekly food shop I would have a bath and listen to a podcast with a face mask on.

I want to make sure that this year I put aside more time for my own self care, it’s just so important for my mental health and wellbeing.
