The TV shows to watch when you have the flu

When I’m feeling really poorly I like to curl up on the sofa with a blanket, a box of tissues and some snacks and just try to feel a little less like crap!

Grey’s Anatomy

I’m talking first few seasons with the original gang including Christina Yang, George and Izzy here.

When my hubby and I first moved up to the North East that summer there wasn’t much on TV and we were saving to buy a new house so we binge-watched Grey’s Anatomy from series 1 so we were ready for the next series to start in the Autumn.

Shockingly Steve hadn’t watched like the first six seasons so it was great to see him go through the rollercoaster emotions of that Shonda puts us Grey’s fans through.

I loved the older Grey’s especially the music all of the drama – every season finale left you wanting more and to fast forward to the next one.

Grey’s Anatomy is centred on personal and professional lives of surgical interns and their supervisors. It’s centred around Meredith Grey daughter of one of the best surgeons Dr Ellis Grey.

There’s lots of seasons to get your teeth stuck into which is perfect if you’re going to be off for a while!

My hero character would be George or Christina I miss them both!

Big Little Lies

This is perfect for a shorter space of time as the second season hasn’t aired yet. This series had me and Steve hooked and we absolutely loved it.

For those not familiar with the show it’s based on Liane Moriaritys bestselling book, and features Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley.

This darkly comedic series tells the tale of three mothers whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.

The musicality in every single episode is amazing. I have to admit I haven’t read the book but it is on my TBR pile.

Picking out a hero character is difficult for me as what I love about this show is the strong female characters and their camaraderie. I just simply can’t choose – sorry!

Criminal Minds

A friend introduced me to Criminal Minds back in 2012 we watched a few episodes at her house one day after work when the weather was rubbish and I knew I’d have to start right from episode 1.

I also got my parents and latterly my hubby on the bandwagon.

Like Grey’s there’s a good 20 or so episodes per season and there’s so much drama and suspense.

For me it’s one of the best crime shows on the box.

The show is about a specialist team within the FBI – the Behaviourial Analysis Unit an elite group of profilers who analyse America’s most dangerous serial killers and individual heinous crimes in an effort to anticipate their next moves and bring them to justice.

My hero character is torn between Morgan, Garcia and Spencer.

I’m so late doing this post that I’m not tagging anyone but leaving it open if you’d like to do this post please feel free to join in.
