The Northern Wedding Show
One of my best friends is getting married next year and she treated us to tickets for the Northern Wedding Show at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle.
I went to a couple of wedding fairs when I was engaged and found them to be really useful and you get so many ideas of what you would like for your big day.
It was lovely to meet up with the girls flying solo (Elsie had some daddy daughter time).
The show was an opportunity to meet with wedding suppliers covering everything from reception entertainment to honeymoons and luxury wedding venues, with more than 100 exhibitors.
We sampled lots of yummy cakes and marvelled over the vast array of flavour combinations on offer.
As well as the exhibitors there was also a tipi festival village and bridal goodie bags.
After a good explore of the stands we headed to the tipi for a drink and to bag a spot to watch the fashion show.
We all enjoyed watching the inclusive designer bridal catwalks featuring some of the world’s most iconic design houses and entertainment.
Before leaving the main exhibition area we circled back to the Avon stand to grab some beauty bargains – eyeliners for the girls and a mascara for me.
We collected our goodie bags on the way out as we didn’t want to carry them round all thestands.
My favourite items in the goodie bag were the biodegradable confetti, a lovely nude Avon lipstick and a lush little notepad I do live my stationery!
We had a lovely couple of hours – Joanne got her engagement ring polished and booked a couple of wedding dress appointments too.
Once we’d had our fill of the Northern Wedding Show we made our ascent through Newcastle for a little bit of retail therapy and a three course meal at Cote Brasserie as it was Restaurant Week. I’ll share a full reviewin due course.

Those cakes are amazing!
Wedding fairs can be fun, but also pretty stressful can’t they!? It must have been nice to go with a friend, so not have any of the pressure of a big day to organize. 😉
