Pamper party package at South Causey Inn

Pamper party package at South Causey Inn

14th November 2018 8 By Rachael Stray

As a special treat to celebrate our 30th birthdays the girls and I booked a pamper party package at South Causey Inn.

If you read my Afternoon Tea at South Causey Inn review you will know that the pamper party package kicks off with delicious treats.

Once we’d finished enjoying the delicious Afternoon Tea and we’d checked in at reception, we were shown to our room for the night.

We were staying in the Old Stable which was a suite in the renovated stables outside of the main part of the hotel.

It boasted a large open plan kitchen and sitting room area, a king sized bed and a single at the bottom, a massive bathroom and was filled with interesting knick knacks.

We also had our own parking space right outside which was so handy as we don’t travel light!

Outside we had our own private garden with a hot tub that could accommodate up to six people.

We had a large fridge which we quickly filled with our boxes of leftovers from the Afternoon Tea and our supplies for the night – Prosecco and chocolate of course.

The beauty treatments were scheduled in for 4pm and we were supplied with fluffy robes and slippers in the room.

We plonked ourselves on the comfy leather sofa and chair and enjoyed some old school 90s classic hits courtesy of Catherine’s Spotify and Bluetooth speaker.

At 3:15pm we had a knock at the door and the therapists arrived (earlier than scheduled but we didn’t mind).

They got set up and then left us for about 10 minutes to get changed into our swimming costumes and bikinis.

I had my facial first which was so refreshing and my face felt amazing afterwards.

Next I had my back neck and shoulder massage and I felt so relaxed afterwards, the therapist really worked the knots in my upper back and shoulders out.

I’m not surprised I was carrying a lot of tension as I’ve had a really busy couple of weeks at work and I was really ready for a break.

Then it was time for my manicure.

I spent what felt like an age picking out the two colours I wanted.

Naturally I plumped for a dark purple/red and a sparkly purple for my ring finger and I love them!

I had a gel manicure and pedicure prior to going on holiday and my toes were still immaculate so I opted for a foot massage instead of a pedicure.

Once we were pampered and fully relaxed the therapists packed up and wished us a lovely stay.

We didn’t want to smoosh our freshly polished nails, so we wrapped up in our robes and plonked ourselves down in the living room for an hour with some bubbles before we headed out into the hot tub.

Joanne and I got the hot tub set up while Catherine got some snacks from the fridge.

Until the weather turned wild (wind and rain) we chilled out in the hot tub which had some funky red lights too.

We then retreated inside for a jet bath and showers and some comfy clothes for the night.

While waiting for the giant bathtub to fill we heard the jets spring into action and we did flood the floor a bit – oops!

A quick call to reception led to a delivery of lots of towels so we could clean up the water.

While I hopped into the amazing shower Catherine and Joanne headed to the bar for some cocktails.

We tucked into crisps (chips for my American readers) and dips and played a game of Who Am I? Stars edition and it was hilarious!

We then got ready to settle down for the night.

What I really liked about our amazing suite was all the curtains which meant you could section the sleeping area off from the living and kitchen area and made it feel really cosy.

After a good nights sleep we got up relatively early and headed to the rustic restaurant for breakfast.

I really judge a hotel by their breakfast and South Causey Inn do breakfast very well.

We started with some orange juice and fruit.

Although the pastries looked amazing I was in the mood for something cooked and the Eggs Benedict was calling my name.

The two eggs were poached to perfection and I mopped up the runny yolk with my toasted English muffins.

I ate every last bite and it was heaven.

After breakfast we headed back to our room and tidied up and packed.

South Causey Inn is also host to weddings so with Joanne being recently engaged we asked if we could have a look around with one of the wedding coordinators.

Once we’d had a good look around the Old Barn and Durham Suite we decided to make a move.

Not quite ready for home I suggested we checked out a little cafe near me that I hadn’t visited yet.

I’ll share my review of Isabella’s in an upcoming blog post here.

The pamper party package cost £160 each but I think it was worth every single penny.

We arrived at 12pm and had a huge Afternoon Tea which was delicious and we had some leftovers to enjoy later.

I loved that the therapists came to our room so we could stay together and we had four treatments each.

We also had a beautiful large suite and a hot tub to enjoy.

Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and set me up for the day.

The staff were all really friendly and helpful and we had a brilliant stay.

The pamper party package at South Causey Inn was exactly what the three of us needed having been really busy in our respective jobs and it was the perfect way to celebrate turning 30.

I’m sure we will be back at South Causey Inn again, maybe even for a wedding next time!
