My five intentions for 2024

My five intentions for 2024

Well hello there 2024, I’ve decided to set five intentions for the year in the hope that it makes me stick to them!

My five intentions for 2024

Be more patient and not as shouty

Patience is not something that comes naturally to me and I can go from zero to 100 really quickly.

So for 2023 I want to try to be more patient and not as shouty.

I want to be more calm and rational especially when it comes to parenting.

Make time for my relationship

This was one of my intentions for 2023 and think there’s definitely room for improvement this year.

As parents who also work full time having any kind of time with my husband is like a blue moon.

Any spare time we do have is extremely limited.

There’s always housework to do or some sort of life admin – you know how it is.

So in 2024, I really want to make more time for the two of us as a couple, we deserve it.

We are more than just mammy and daddy and workers!

Self care isn’t selfish so do it more often

I am a huge advocate in self care and I’m always telling people to do it but often forget to carve out time for myself to practice what I preach!

I’m also wanting to make sure I sleep better as everything seems better after a good night’s sleep.

We invested in new black out curtains last year which will help in the warmer sunnier months!

I’m also looking at adopting some of the tips on preparing your bedroom for sleep on the sleep tech firm Simba’s website which look really helpful to improve your sleep.

Like December 2022 I treated myself to the M&S beauty advent calendar, so I’m going to indulge in lots of pamper sessions this year using those lovely treats!

I want to make sure that this year I put aside more time for my own self care, it’s just so important for my mental health and wellbeing.

Exercise my mind more

In 2023 I managed to read 62 books and surpassed my goal of 60 books.

However, I did lose my reading mojo a little bit so for 2023, I want to commit to reading even just a page of a book every single day!

I love to read and it’s a great way to unwind.

For 2023 I wanted to make sure I completed the CIPR invest in CPD challenge and for the 75th anniversary of CIPR the challenge was to log 75 points which I managed to do before the March deadline!

So for 2024 I want to make sure I get my 60 points logged throughout the year and not leave myself any pressure for the deadline.

Make more memories

Elsie started school in September last year so I want to make the most of the holiday times and weekends.

So more trips out and quality time together as much as we can.

I also want to spend more time with friends and family even if it’s just a catch up over a hot chocolate – time with the people you care about is so precious.
