Lola Jeans Tynemouth – review

Lola Jeans Tynemouth – review

22nd May 2022 0 By Rachael Stray

I enjoyed my very first meal at Lola Jeans Tynemouth with my two best friends so thought I’d share my honest review.

As part of my five intentions for 2022 I want to make more memories and be more present, have less screen time and catch up with friends.

So for my second catch up with my besties for the year, we decided to head to the coast for something to eat.

Catherine suggested Lola Jeans Tynemouth as neither Joanne or I had eaten here before and booked us a table.

Lola Jeans Tynemouth

I walked past Lola Jeans Tynemouth not realising it was actually tucked behind Head of Steam through an archway.

It transpired that Catherine had actually booked a table online but for the Lola Jeans Newcastle venue not Tynemouth by mistake!

Fortunately for us, they were able to give us a table for our original 2pm booking and she wasn’t charged for cancelling the table at Newcastle. Phew!

We perused the drinks menu first, I didn’t fancy any of the mocktails so just opted for a classic Coke, Joanne had a Fentimans rose lemonade and Cat stuck with water.

After deliberating over the menu which has award winning burgers, sharing platters and appetisers, I changed my mind right at the last second.

Catherine went for her usual order of the signature steak platter and I decided to go for it too. Although her beef was medium and mine was medium rare.

Joanne decided to try the vegan platter which we all agreed sounded delicious.

We had a short wait for our food to arrive so we had a good catch up.

Our platters soon arrived and we were all eager to tuck in.

My beef was medium rare, so pink but not bloody and very tasty.

The triple cooked chips were absolutely delicious, especially when dipped into the two accompanying sauces.

I ate every last morsel of food on my plate except for the onions.

The staff were friendly and attentive and so accommodating, securing us a table and even taking some pictures for us.

I really liked the vibe, it was very chilled and had a good mix of music which wasn’t too loud in the background.

The tables weren’t too close together so you didn’t feel like you were on top of other diners.

We had really lovely food and a great catch up.

Before we left, I headed to the toilets which were really clean and very pink!

I thought the price for the dishes was reasonable, £14.95 for our steak platters and £12.95 for the vegan platter.

Our whole bill was less than £50 and we all enjoyed our food immensely.

This was my first visit to Lola Jeans Tynemouth but I would definitely return.
