Coeliac Insider – review (gifted)
I’ve been exploring Coeliac Insider a new go-to website for advice and information about Coeliac disease*.
Here in the UK it’s estimated that 1 in every 100 people suffer from coeliac disease but only 24% of this number is clinically diagnosed.
This means there are approximately 500,000 people in the UK undiagnosed and struggling with unexplained symptoms including bloating, mouth ulcers, heartburn and more.
Undiagnosed coeliac disease can severely impact a persons life which is why a diagnosis and education is so important.
The new website Coeliac Insider, brought by Thermo Fisher Scientific, has been created to help people find out if they have Coeliac disease, learn more about the disease and what it means to live with it.

The website is packed with useful advice and helpful information for people who are worried they might have the disease or are worried about a friend or a family member.

And there’s also a section for clinicians too.
It’s easy to navigate the website on your mobile, tablet or laptop.
Different from a food allergy or intolerance, coeliac disease is a serious autoimmune illness caused by the ingestion of gluten.
And it seems much more common for people to be suffering with issues with gluten.
It can affect many different parts of the body, not just the gut, which is one reason many people don’t realise they have the disease.
Delayed diagnosis is common – the average time for a diagnosis is 13 years!
With information on symptoms and where to go for advice and information, Coeliac Insider is a much-needed educational resource for anyone concerned that they or a family member might have the disease.
Finding out what is behind symptoms may provide relief and help to avoid more serious health issues in the future.

To celebrate the launch of the website I was kindly given a gorgeous ceramic bowl and a spoon with the website engraved.
