WUKA Reusable Pad and Laundry Bag – review (AD)

WUKA Reusable Pad and Laundry Bag – review (AD)

12th June 2022 0 By Rachael Stray

I was kindly sent WUKA Reusable Pads and a Laundry Bag in exchange for an honest review*.

WUKA is a female-led period care brand that makes period underwear and activewear with the aim of completely replacing the need for tampons and pads and believe periods shouldn’t cost you the earth.

And I am a big fan of WUKA.

I’ve been using WUKA period pants since April 2020 and I am absolutely a convert, you can read my Wuka period pants review to see my full thoughts.

The Reusable Pad and Laundry Bag is the latest addition to their growing sustainable period product range which also includes period pants and boxers, period accessories and even period swimwear.

Their range is adapting and expanding which is wonderful to see.

My overall thoughts on WUKA Reusable Pad and Laundry Bag

This is the first time I have used a reusable pad and I really think it fills a gap for me during my period that I usually have either at the start or the end.

Sometimes my period tries to catch me out, lulling me into a false sense of security that it’s finished or it isn’t about to start; so I either waste a pair of period pants and nothing happens or I forgo and end up ruining my normal underwear.

This is where the WUKA Reusable Pad has come in so handy!

Although I track my periods using a couple of apps, I have unfortunately been caught short.

Having a discreet pad in my bag on the days I am in the office or nipping out and about means I now feel confident on the run up or at the end of my period that I won’t get caught short, I can pop the pad on and save my underwear.

I really like that that the material is super soft and reused organic cotton so it feels good and does good.

The pad is really secure, you simply clip it onto your underwear to keep it firmly in place.

And because of this, I didn’t have to worry about the pad slipping or chafing my skin.

Not having those horrible sticky plastic fiddly wings is one of my favourite features of this pad, no more accidentally waxing my own pubes or pinching my skin!

I didn’t have to worry about leakage at all thanks to the leakproof wings.

The reusable pad dries quicker than my period pants which means I can use it, wash it and use it again during the same period which is a real bonus.

And I really like the laundry bag not only for washing my pad and period pants but also for storing them until it’s time for wash day.

The laundry bag holds up to three pairs of period pants so is perfect for a mid-period wash.

And the little cover cleverly stops the zip from catching anything else you may have in the washing machine.

It’s really easy to use and air-dries quickly so again it’s ideal for a mid-period wash.

Since having Elsie I am really trying to take ownership of my body, I no longer take contraception that plays havoc with my hormones and I use WUKA period pants and reusable pads that are eco-friendly, ethical and free from toxins and nasty chemicals.

I would absolutely recommend WUKA Reusable Pads and Laundry Bag and of course the WUKA period pants!
