Delicious Italian food thanks to Sous Chef – review (AD)
I was kindly sent some Italian delicious ingredients from Sous Chef in exchange for an honest review*.
Although Steve is the resident chef in our house I sometimes manage to put on the apron and rustle up something tasty.
I am a huge Italian food fanatic, it is always my go to choice whether it’s eating out or at home.
Like so many others during lockdown we have been spending much more time at home and we’ve been trying to vary the menu to keep things interesting.
We were kindly gifted a box of delicious Italian food and a gorgeous plate from the lovely family-run Sous Chef.

Everything was really carefully packaged in recyclable material.

As soon as I saw the Rega DOP San Marzano Tomatoes and funky looking Pastificio Del Colle Rainbow Striped Lingua I knew I’d be treating Steve to a delicious bolognese.
The meal was absolutely delicious and I know that’s down to the ingredients and not the chef!
San Marzano tomatoes are Italy’s favourite tomatoes for pizza bases and pasta sauces and it’s really easy to see why.
They are grown in the particularly fertile volcanic soil at the foot of Mount Vesuvius and are bursting with flavour and rich in vitamins – super tasty.

The Pastificio Del Colle’s rainbow striped lingua really brought a ray of sunshine to our plates.

The wide flat pasta shapes have pretty crimped edges and are coloured with natural dyes including turmeric and paprika and is really easy to cook and very tasty.
This would be a great gift for anyone who, like me, loves pasta!
The plate included in our delivery is really beautiful.
It’s large enough to be used as a sharing platter; I’m looking forward to being able to have family and friends round and putting it to good use.
I’m looking forward to cooking another bolognese and experimenting with a chicken dish with the Italianavera Yellow Peeled Tomatoes.
A big thank you to Sous Chef for gifting us these delicious ingredients.
Sous Chef is the shop for people who love cooking! The London-based company’s website with ingredients, equipment, tableware and gifts inspired by leading restaurants and international food.
They try to be sustainable with products, little food waste and recyclable shipping materials and are phasing out products with palm oil which is great.
