Breakfast at Knitsley Farm Shop
With a rare day off and Elsie at nursery we decided to treat ourselves to breakfast at Knitsley Farm Shop.
We often get meat, bread and other tasty treats from Knitsley Farm Shop but hadn’t enjoyed any of the delicious food from the Knitsley Granary Café.
I double checked on their social media channels that due to covid-19 restrictions that they were still open for sit-in (or outside in this case) food and luckily for us they were.
They are currently serving from the Courtyard Kitchen as the indoor seating area has not reopened yet.
This wasn’t a problem as the weather was chilly but dry, we just made sure we had warm layers on.
There’s ample free parking on site.
We made our way to the till area where we were warmly greeted by a member of staff who explained what was on the menu and how it all works in the current format.
With our minds made up we placed our order, full English for both of us and orange juice and found a table.
It’s a really lovely spot with gorgeous views from the car park.
A waitress brought our drinks to the table and we had a little natter while waiting for our food.
It was fairly busy with other diners tucking into breakfast including some well-behaved furry friends too.
After a short wait our number was called and Steve made his way to the serving hatch to collect our breakfasts.
We’ve heard so many good things about the award winning breakfast, which is a celebration of Knitsley’s home produced products including free range eggs, home produced sausage, black pudding and bacon.
We had a couple of rounds of toast each which were in a separate container to our breakfasts which was nice as not everyone likes their bread mixed in with the rest of their breakfast.
You get a choice of how you’d like your eggs we both opted for fried as this was a treat. The egg was absolutely delicious and the yolk nice and runny just how I like it.
Everything was piping hot and smelling ever so inviting.
The sausage was juicy and packed full of flavour, the farm house sausages are truly delicious from Knitsley.
I’m not a tomato, mushroom or black pudding fan but Steve assured me that they were all flavoursome and delicious.
The bacon was thickly sliced and served crispy just perfection in my eyes.
And of course the baked beans were a lovely accompaniment.
This full English breakfast was well worth the wait, absolutely delicious. I didn’t need any lunch that day as I was well and truly stuffed.
We will definitely return and sample more of the delights on offer.
