5 ways to celebrate self-love on Valentine’s Day – guest post

5 ways to celebrate self-love on Valentine’s day is my latest guest post thanks to Merry.

Valentine’s Day is not only about spending your day in a romantic way or gifting your loved ones something useful. But self-love on Valentine’s Day is also just as important as anything.

I think a self-love is an act of taking care of yourself despite knowing that you are a house of imperfection. On the day of love, February 14, it is time you realize the magnificent masterpiece that is yourself. Instead of feeling the emotional stresses of being locked down on Valentine’s day.

Here are 5 ways to celebrate selflove on Valentine’s Day!

Pamper Yourself

Who doesn’t love to be pampered? Make spa day at home with a bubble bath, sheet mask, or whatever it is that makes you feel good and taken care of. You deserved to be treated as Queen!

Turn off your phone, stay away from your computer, stop replying to those emails, because this Valentine’s Day is about SELF-LOVE.

Treat Yourself

Do you like shopping? Do you like books? I do. Whenever I pass a bookstore, I always stopping by to buy 1-2 books. This simple act makes me so happy!

Those dresses or shoes you’ve been eyeing in the store window? Buy them! Give yourself the gift of that special item you’ve been wanting to purchase. You don’t need a romantic partner to spoil you. If it’s going to make you happy, make that purchase!

Find Your Passion

Another good way to self-love on Valentine’s Day is to find your passion. Take some time to discover a hobby – something that you truly want to explore! Maybe you’ve always wanted to write a book or learn a new language.

If you have something you REALLY want to do (I want to continue learning how to knit, haven’t got the chance since years ago), now is the perfect time to start a project that makes you enjoy long after the holiday is over.

Reach Out

The pandemic turns our life upside down! Life itself already hectic and sometimes we lose touch with friends and family who we haven’t seen in months or even years.

Take this moment to reach out to someone special, either by phone or social media. Let them know that you’re caring about them.

Give Back

Self-love on Valentine’s Day not only for yourself. Remember the people who are less fortunate during this situation and choose to do something awesome for those around you.

Go check your wardrobe, see if there are any clothes that you only wear once or because they don’t fit with you anymore, donate them. Making a donation and share a little bit of your love with the ones that need it most.

Sometimes people put so much effort and pressure on Valentine’s Day to be a huge thing, but in fact, it’s just another day. You can always give something valuable or spending your time with your loved ones even not during Valentine’s Day.

Don’t put too much stress on yourself (choosing a gift, decorating, cooking, etc) to make it perfect. Whether you’re solo or not, just go with the flow and remember, practice self-love on Valentine’s Day that’s going to make you smile.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
