Trainmaster Tyne and Wear event (review)
We popped along to our first Trainmaster Tyne and Wear event so thought I’d share an honest review.
Steve noticed a poster on a local Facebook group of a Trainmaster Tyne and Wear event for last Sunday for little ones.
He visited the Trainmaster Tyne and Wear website where all the upcoming events are listed and booked a ticker for Elsie (£7) and additional adult ticket (free).
About Trainmaster events
At Trainmaster we are passionate about all-things-trains and have multiple ‘stations’ across the country for your children to jump on board and play.
We fill our rooms with a giant hands-on train track, electric trains, a ride on train, crafts and fancy dress; check out the gallery in our locations pages to get a flavour of what we do.
We are also available for private hire to run birthday parties, corporate events or even visit you at home and school!
There are regular events held at our locations; find out where and when by selecting your location from the menu on the Trainmaster website.
Trainmaster Tyne and Wear event
This event was held in the Snods Communty Hall which is only a very short drive from our home in County Durham.
It ran from 1:15-2:30pm which is a just over an hour and doesn’t clash with mealtimes so ideal for us!
There was ample free parking on site and we made our way inside just before quarter past 1 and everything was all ready to go.
In the main room there were lots of small tracks set up with an abundance of trains and carriages many battery operated whizzing round and round.

And then further back was a larger track with a battery operated sit on and ride around train which Elsie patiently waited inline for her turn.

She even wore the high vis train driving in training jacket – a lovely touch.
In the back room down a little step was a sit on and ride Thomas the Tank Engine and another little sit on and scoot toy.

Elsie loved going on both of these quite a few times and was really good at waiting for her turn.
In here there was also a table set up with colouring in activities all train themed of course. For once Elsie didn’t do this – she was too busy having fun with the trains.
I was worried when I saw it was sold out that it would be carnage but it wasn’t, there were grandparents and parents with little ones but not too many people.
And there was plenty of space to move between the different activities.

In the main room she really enjoyed the large Thomas train which also served as storage with lots of compartments to open.

The children were all in good spirits and mostly sharing and getting along which was great to see.
There were some younger children enjoying themselves too but I’d say this event is perfect for toddlers and pre-school children.
Elsie had an absolutely brilliant time and for £7 on a cold wintry Sunday this was a great purse friendly activity that broke up the day and kept us warm!

We enjoyed it so much so that we’re going to go again when it comes back later in the year.
There’s Trainmaster events across the North East and also the wider UK visit the Trainmaster website to find out more and book your tickets. Events seem to sell out really quickly so don’t hang about if you’re interested.
You can also book it for parties, schools and events too.
