I thought it would be useful to share my top 5 things I bought last year that I feel made a difference to my life.

From little luxuries to everyday game-changers, these are the top five purchases that I couldn’t imagine my year without.

Top 5 things I bought last year (2024)

1. Spotify Subscription

Having access to all my favourite music and podcasts without being interrupted by adverts has been a complete joy.

I’ve rediscovered the pleasure of listening to music – whether I’m working, relaxing, or spending time with Elsie.

We’ve had so much fun singing along while drawing at the table or cooking together.

Being able to skip songs or replay favourites on a whim has made Spotify worth every penny.

And having my first ever Spotify wrapped was pretty good too!

2. Small Bluetooth Speaker

This budget-friendly gadget has been an absolute game-changer for me.

I use it every single day while cooking, doing housework, or ironing.

It’s incredible how something so small and affordable can make such a big difference.

Whether it’s a playlist or a podcast this little speaker has brought a lot of joy to mundane tasks.

3. A New Kindle

After over a decade with my trusty old Kindle, it was time for an upgrade, and I’m so glad I treated myself.

Following a rough patch with my health early last year, I decided to invest in a new Kindle, and it’s completely transformed my reading experience.

It’s lighter, faster, and has features I didn’t even know I was missing.

I read 73 books last year, and I know my shiny new Kindle played a big part in reigniting my love of reading.

4. Getting My Nails Done

What started as a one-off treat before a summer holiday has become a monthly ritual, and it’s done wonders for my self-esteem and mental health.

Having an hour to myself for a manicure feels like a little slice of therapy, and walking out with beautifully done nails gives me such a confidence boost.

It’s a small indulgence, but one that has made a huge difference to my overall wellbeing.

5. No7 Pro Artist Makeup

I’ve been a fan of No7 for years, but the new Pro Artist collection has taken my makeup routine to another level.

It’s a more premium range, but still affordable, and the results speak for themselves.

My makeup has never looked better, and using the collection feels like a little luxury every day.

Final Thoughts

Reflecting on these purchases, it’s clear that the best things I bought last year weren’t necessarily the most expensive, but they’ve all added value to my life in different ways.

From improving my daily routine to giving me moments of joy and self-care, these items have been well worth it.
